Coach Carter is in her second year as teacher and head lacrosse coach at North Gwinnett High School. Coach Carter teaches World & U.S. History. Coach Carter has a Bachelor’s degree from Kennesaw State University, where she played on the KSU Club Lacrosse team for 3 years. Coach Carter played lacrosse from 2005-2016, including 4 years of Varsity Lacrosse at Woodstock High School in Woodstock, GA. When Coach Carter was introduced to lacrosse in 2005, the girls’ program hadn’t been started yet. To learn the fundamentals, Coach Carter attended practice with her older brothers, Mark and Scott, who also played 4 years of Varsity Lacrosse at Woodstock High School. The girls’ lacrosse program in Cherokee County was founded in 2006, and Coach Carter has been involved with the sport ever since. 

As a player, Coach Carter found lacrosse to be a happy place, where she would go on to learn important life skills like the importance of teamwork, leadership, and self-advocacy. Coach Carter served as captain of her high school and club lacrosse team for Junior and senior year of high school and college. She also won Offensive Player of the Year her sophomore year of high school, Offensive MVP her junior year, and team MVP her senior year. She is in her 4th year of coaching lacrosse at the high school level, serving for the first year at Woodstock High, and the last two seasons at River Ridge High School in Woodstock, GA. Her goal as a coach is to spread her love of lacrosse to her players, as well as help them to become independent and well-rounded members of their community. 

Coach Carter lives in Alpharetta, GA with her boyfriend Casey and their dog, Memphis.
